10.00 – 12.00: Round Table Discussion:

1st session: The introduction of Digital Work Spaces in secondary education.

After an experimental period of several months, the Regions and Departments of France are implementing a widespread introduction of Digital Workspaces in colleges and lycées. Presentation of examples from Midi-Pyrénées and Auvergne, and feedback from the organisation and management of these projects.

Expected participants: Martin Malvy, Président du Conseil Régional Midi-Pyrénées ; Olivier Dugrip, rector of the Académie de Toulouse and chancellor of the Universities ; Serge Bergamelli, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation, Président de la Région Auvergne.

2nd session: Feedback and investment returns on Information and Communication Technology in Education (ICTE).
The state and other groups are investing in systems, platforms and increasingly in educational resources. Evaluation and feedback are essential management tools for academies, schools, funding agencies and suppliers who want to respond more effectively to changing needs. Who should be making these evaluations? The head-teacher, the agency, the supplier? Several practices coexist… If there is a norm, what is best practice?

ICTE training for teachers
The use and development of ICTE in teaching has become a priority in recent years and will continue to be so in the years to come. Some training projects, underway, in planning or completed, provide useful feedback. Projects like ‘Pairform@nce’ which offers hybrid teacher training courses linked to ICTE. Appraisal of initial and on-going training at the Instituts Universitaires de Formation des Maîtres (IUFM). Tools and methods, sharing experiences…

Expected participants: representative of the IUFM; representative of the Board of Inspectors for ICTE; Philippe Portelli, Services Culture, Editions, Ressources Pour L’Education Nationale (SCEREN) at the Centre National de Documentation Pédagogique (CNDP)/Agence des Usages TICE Olivier Capelle APPLE EDUCATION ....

16.00 – 18.00: Round Table Discussion: Continuing education after school, the best solution? For several years local groups have been investing in technological solutions with the aim of maintaining after-school links: broadband networks to alleviate digital deprivation and allow all pupils to develop computer skills and connect to digital resources through Digital Workspaces; other groups have opted for mobile solutions, investing in laptops (Landes, Ordina13…) and MP3 players (iPods and the like). Are these solutions sustainable, complementary or competing? Strategies, policies and purpose.
